Molly + Keith Wedding Film

Molly + Keith. Married.

Behind the Scenes
We used 2 Sony A7SII’s for this wedding film with a range of prime & zoom lenses and we captured all our audio on a Zoom H4N. The Ronin-M is our go-to stabilizer for almost all our weddings & projects. Though it’s heavy, the smooth moving shots are breathtaking. Vanessa + Luke Wedding Film

Vanessa + Luke. Married.

Behind the Scenes
We changed it up a bit for this wedding; We used a Sony a7SII and our new Sony FS5II as the main cam. I thought I would love the new cam for weddings, but I was wrong. For starters, you cannot change white balance when in custom picture profiles such as S-Log or Cine.4 like we us on the a7SII. It’s not the end of the world though. The 10bit footage from the FS5II can be color corrected to match the other cam. It’s not all bad for the cam. I really enjoyed the 240fps bursts; You can see a sample of that with the butterflies in the intro. Prime & zoom lenses used; 24, 50, 24-70, 100 macro, 70-200. Audio was captured on a Zoom H4N and Rode NTG4 Plus. The Ronin-M is our go to stabilizer for almost all our weddings & projects. Though it’s heavy, the smooth moving shots are breathtaking. Brooklyn + Tayler Wedding Film

Brooklyn + Tayler. Married.
I really enjoyed working with Brooklyn and Tayler. They had a very unique wedding day which made this wedding film very special. The day started at their parent’s house, which was on the east side of Sioux Falls. Brooklyn and her bridesmaids got ready there, while Tayler and his Groomsmen got ready at the Sheraton hotel north of Sioux Falls. After everyone was ready, we drove over to the Tut Hill Gardens for their letter readings and their first look. I really enjoyed filming ay this location because of all the blossoming flowers. The first look was very touching because their letters were so powerful. After the first look was done we took them for a 10 minute one on one session and filmed a couple of sequences. By using some of the rows of flowers in the foreground it created this moody feel throughout these sequences. Once we finished there we headed over to St Katharine Drexel Catholic Church for the ceremony. It was my first time filming at this church, so I was really taken by surprise when I saw the extraordinary architecture of the church. The ceremony was about 45 minutes long and was very emotional as they had family and friends fly in from all over the world there for the special day. Once the knot had been tied, we headed over to the Sioux Falls Convention Center for the reception. For the grand entrance, they had the entire party bus drive into the reception hall. I had never seen this done before, so it turned out to be really unique. Each of one of the couples had a vastly different entrance. Some popped off confetti while some of them drank beers. Once Brooklyn and Tayler stepped off the bus the whole event hall stood on their feet and gave off this roaring energy. Once everyone was done eating I played the love story that I shot and edited for them. Once that was done, we moved right into toasts which kicked off with Brooklyn’s dad presenting flowers to her mom, since it was also their anniversary. Both of Brooklyn’s sisters also gave a speech which I used in the film because they were very powerful and touching. Tayler’s best man also gave a comedic speech of their younger days. The first dances were really emotional and had everyone off their feet the whole time. DJ Jer then took over and invited everyone to the dance floor for the rest of the night. Overall it was a day not to be forgotten and truly heartwarming for all of us.

Tiffany + Daron Wedding Film

Tiffany + Daron. Married.
Out of all the wedding films I have shot this year, I must say that this is one of my favorite ones. Tiffany and Daron were really great to work with! They were really outgoing and not afraid to show their passion for each other. They were both really natural in front of the camera. I really enjoyed filming this wedding because of the locations where the ceremony and reception were held. Tiffany and Daron’s ceremony was held at her father’s ranch which is Northeast of Sioux Falls , while the reception was held at the Summit Event Hall in the city. The wedding day was planned perfectly. We start off the morning with them getting ready at the Event Hall and ended the first part of the day with their first look in the living room of the venue. We then headed over to the ranch where Tiffany had her Dads first look right before the ceremony. After the ceremony, we shot some sequences with them both together around the ranch. These clips really helped carry the story throughout the video. Before the grand entrance, we stopped Downtown Sioux Falls with them for a 20 min one on one session by the railroad tracks. I really liked this very urban feel it gave this sequence in the intro because you don’t really get that in a small city like Sioux Falls. The reception also turned out to be really cool because of the production which Pinnacle always brings. After the cake cutting, we snuck out with the couple to do a sunset session. Unfortunately it turned out to be a very hazy day, so we didn’t really get a sunset. Instead, we came up with using one of the tallest hills in the city to our advantage. We had them run across the street and kiss in the middle of it, while we stopped traffic. We also filmed in one of the alleyways close to the venue since it is located in a historical part of the city. We then headed back to the venue for toast and first dances. The toast given by the maid of honor (Holly Hintz) turned out to be a very unique/powerful one and is the one I put in the intro of the film. During the first dance, they also had a fog machine which created this very dreamy effect. DJ Kor was on the turntables and had the energy flowing from the start. Overall it was a really fun day, and I really enjoyed working with such a great couple!

Amanda + Tyler Wedding Film

Amanda + Tyler. Married.
When I’m filming I can tell when a moment is THAT moment which makes a wedding film so much more meaningful. The father’s toast brought tears to most and I knew immediately I wanted to make that the focus of this film. The bond between Amanda and her father is truly visible.

Amanda and Tyler, like all of our clients, were very easy to work with; I couldn’t be more happy.

Dainty Obsessions: A Backyard Affair

I really enjoyed filming this video for many reasons; One of them being the fact that everything was very well set up and another being the location. Penny Tree Event Center is a pretty cool spot because of the design and all of the trees and nature surrounding the event center. I also enjoyed filming this styled shoot because the couple in the video were not shy at all and really seemed to connect with each other which made posing them very easy.

I used 2 Sony A7sII’s to film this. To create all of the smooth moving shots, I used a Ronin-M with the Canon 24-70 2.8. I love the versatility of this lens because I rarely have to change my lens. The second camera was on the Manfrotto monopod with a Canon 100mm lens which is what I used to get all the tight shots of the couple. Overall, it was very fun to do and very easy to edit.

Thank you Dainty Obsessions for bringing me out.
